Joy Ministries For Christ
First Soldier & Apostle Jackson

Our Overseer, Apostle Andrea M. Jackson was born to Sis. Ruth Devine and Deacon Larry Williams, she was adopted out at 2 days old and raised in Los Angeles, CA by Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson Jr and by God’s divine hand returned to her biological family at age 13.

Her very first church at age 4 was “Faith Tabernacle” where Ministers James and Dorothy Johnson baptized her at age 10, she then went through an infamous dark past which included gang affiliation, drugs, alcohol, and a few incarcerations by which one conviction brought about a Life plus 2-year sentence from Compton court, but God had His hand on her. Andrea gave her life back to the Lord at Mt. Zion Lighthouse under the leadership of Pastor Henry and Evangelist Mary Barnett.

She and a few former inmates formed a group to visit the California Youth Authority correctional institute in Ventura, CA to speak in the Protestant Chapel to encourage the youth and give hope in Jesus. She later joined a prison help organization called Friends Outside and an M3 program, which allows outsiders to go and visit the inmates in their living quarters.

She joined The Joy in 1997 under the Leadership of Apostle Dr. Rodney L. Pearson where she was first appointed as Youth Minister and later licensed a Minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She became the ministry’s intercessory prayer leader and worship conductress. She continued in ministry and was fully ordained as a Minister and was immediately placed into a Pastoral Internship under the mentorship of her Pastor, Apostle Dr. Rodney L. Pearson. She became the President of The Joy’s Women’s Ministry; Victorious Women where many women from various walks of life came and received deliverance through the mighty power of Jesus Christ.

January 1999 she married First Soldier Joseph Jackson (ceremony officiated by Pastor Callie Anderson). In 2002 the mantle of pastoral ship was passed and Andrea was ordained a pastor and installed as the Senior Pastor of Joy Ministries for Christ (JMFC) with God’s confirming word of scripture found in Genesis 41:40 saying “Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”

God soon shifted Pastor Jackson into the prophetic with God’s confirming word of scripture from Isaiah 49:1-3 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; and said unto me thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

In September 2019 God called Apostle Howard Smith of King’s Dominion World Worship Ministries from Memphis, Tennessee to affirm Pastor Andrea to the order of the Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Andrea Jackson found that her kingdom assignment was to raise up soldiers for the good fight of faith by way of developing God’s people from the inside out through the word of God, preparing them for leadership and ministry according to how they are called; that they may walk in the fullness of God’s predestined plan for their lives in good character and integrity.

Apostle Andrea is one of the original members of Eagle’s Wings Evangelistic Pastors Fellowship under the oversight of the late Bishop Gregory Dixon, Daughters of Fire Ministries under founder and overseer the late Pastor Lorine Anderson, also affiliated with Bridge the Gap Coalition headed by Bishop K. Moore helping families to help themselves, Global Apostolic, Prophetic Kingdom Fellowship Ministries headed by Dr. A.A Perez in Delaware, and was a faithful student of the School of the Anointing taught by the late but great Chief Apostle Dr. Robbie Horton until his call to heaven and a student of Destiny School of Ministry under the teaching and administration of Apostle Willis Tait.

As Apostle Andrea continues to pastor JMFC she also heads a ministerial fellowship called “Ministers Only” and has thus far licensed, ordained, validated and affirmed a multitude of clergymen (Apostles, Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Deacons) to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Jackson oversees several external and internal ministries and has established 2 church plants thus far. During the Coronavirus 2020 Apostle Andrea continued to do the work of the Lord and founded “United Power Kingdom Fellowship” which is a fellowship of churches/ministries also committed to the service of the Lord for the purpose of support and strength for the longevity of life of the ministries therein.

Apostle Andrea M. Jackson loves the Lord and is committed to His service.

Our beloved 1st Solider Joseph N. Jackson, born in Mississippi, raised in Miami, Florida. Bro. Joseph moved to California in 1978. He graduated from John C. Fremont High School, pursued a degree in Law Enforcement from West L.A. College and joined the U.S. Army. Bro. Joseph then began a family; he fathers 2 beautiful children in which he is very proud, Joseph Jr. and Domonique Jackson.

“First Soldier”, as we endearingly call him was given his name by his Father-in- Law, Bro. Larry Williams and his Joy family after First Soldier gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our First Soldier is a great inspiration to all that knows him because of his great humor, his willingness to help and his heart of Gold.

Our First Soldier is a kid at heart and his heart is most definitely with the kids. He is the primary coach on our Joy Lords basketball team, a tenor in Voices of Joy choir and a great support to our church and Pastor.

First Soldier is now acknowledging God’s call on his life and is aspiring to be all that God created him to be.

Our Pastors

Our Vision

A Church of Life Change

Our Affirmation of Faith

A. The Word of God We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (I John 17:17; Romans 15:4; II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:1921)

B. The Trinity We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Matthew 28:19; John 1:14, I John 5:7)

C. God the Father We believe in God, the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 3:1617; John 4:24; John 17:5)

D. Jesus Christ We believe in Jesus Christ as God, the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth as a human being, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual
intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. (Isaiah 7:14; John 1:14; Philippians 2:511; I Thessalonians 4:1617; Hebrews 1:23, I John 1:7)

E. The Holy Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. (John 16:715; Romans 8:1417; Ephesians 1:1314; I John 14:26)

F. Regeneration We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice. Therefore, they are under judgment. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are transformed by the Holy Spirit. (John 1:1213; John 3:1618; Acts 20:21; Titus 3:5)

G. The Church We believe in the church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. (Matthew 16:1618; Acts 2:3841; Ephesians 2:1922, 5:2527)

H. Christian Conduct We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and well being of his fellowmen; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (II Corinthians 9:68; Ephesians 4:1116; Philippians 2:1416; Colossians 3:1723; I Thessalonians 5:1718)

I. The Ordinances We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the Triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:1820; Acts 2:4142; Romans 6:35; I Corinthians 11:2332)

J. Religious Liberty We believe that every human being has direct relations with God and is responsible to God in all matters of faith. Each church is independent and must be free from interference by an ecclesiastical or political authority; Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.

K. Church Cooperation We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another. Cooperation in a conference is voluntary and may be
terminated at any time. Churches, likewise, cooperate with the interdenominational fellowship on a voluntary independent basis.

L. The End Times We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. (Matthew 25:3146; John 5:18, 29; II Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:115)

M. Christian Marriage We believe that Christian marriage is a sacred institution ordained of God for the benefit of mankind and the propagation of mankind. It is the spiritual and physical union of one biological man and one biological woman; this is the only legitimate sexual relationship and, according to the scriptural ideal, is to be broken only by death. Our Church and staff shall not perform or participate in any same-sex marriage or unions or ceremonies of any kind; and Church facilities and property shall not be used for such purposes. (Gen 1:2627, Gen 2:1825, 1 Cor 6:18; 7:25; Heb 13:4)

N. Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.

O. Sanctity of Human Life We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including preborn babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139)
